Placemarks (waypoints, routes...)  from Atlas for mariners are stored in a .gpx file that you can  download into your computer in order to import into OpenCPN.

How to import marks into OpenCPN ?

  1. Click on fiji.gpx in order to save marks on your computer.
  2. In OpenCPN toolbar, click on the [Route & Mark Manager] tool.
  3. Clic on [Import GPX...] button.
  4. Select the fiji.gpx file that you have saved into the Downloads folder then click on [Open] button.
Imported marks by this method are added to marks already existing in OpenCPN. See hereafter to import in a separated layer.

How to import marks into a OpenCPN layer ?

  1. Click on fiji.gpx in order to save marks on your computer.
  2. Check that OpenCPN data folder does include a sub-folder named Layers (C:\ProgramData\opencpn\Layers in Windows). If sub-folder Layers does not exist, create a Layers sub-folder in C:\ProgramData\opencpn.
  3. Copy the fiji.gpx file that you have saved from the Downloads folder to the Layers sub-folder.
  4. Restart OpenCPN.
By importing points and routes from a .gpx file into a layer, the imported marks are stored separately from others marks and they cannot be modified.
